Arboreal Fungi in Biological Control against Soil Fungi

نویسندگان

چکیده

Fungi are important components of every ecosystem. In nature, they play a significant role as decomposers, decomposing organic matter into simple compounds available for plants. They curious group organisms that attracts more and interest not only among mycologists phytopathologists, but also geneticists, biochemists physiologists. Metabolic products arboreal fungi show multidirectional action, including in the field biological protection against harmful phytopathogens. Particularly invasive difficult to control soil fungi, phytobacteria phytoviruses, which widely spread rhizosphere. Moreover, variety pathogens is constantly increasing, new forms rapidly emerging, often resistant agents used so far.

Rhizobia as a biological control agent against soil borne plant pathogenic fungi.

Rhizobia promote the growth of plants either directly through N2 fixation, supply of nutrients, synthesis of phytohormones and solubilization of minerals, or indirectly as a biocontrol agent by inhibiting the growth of pathogens. The biocontrol effect of rhizobia is due to the secretion of secondary metabolites such as antibiotics and HCN. Siderophore production in iron stress conditions provid...

Soil Fungi-Plant Interaction

One of the main European agricultural problems is the decline in soil fertility due to the reduction of the natural soil harmony. When natural soil composition is altered, few cultivated plants replace spontaneous populations of numerous species. Man becomes the only regulator of a new fragile equilibrium between the simplified biocenosis elements. Agronomic techniques (fertilisation, irrigatio...

Ectomycorrhizal fungi in mineral soil

Ectomycorrhizal fungi are mutualistic symbionts of many forest trees and play a major role in nutrient uptake. They form diverse communities in boreal forest soils but functional differences within this group of fungi remain largely unknown. We study ectomycorrhzal fungi in mineral soil to determine how abiotic preferences influence their spatial distribution in stratified soil profiles. This i...

The biological and mechanical role of soil fungi.

The major role assigned to soil microorganisms is that of decomposition of the litter that collects on or under the soil surface. Additional roles are: synthesis of growth factors such as vitamins and auxins, fixing of atmospheric nitrogen (restricted to bacteria and blue-green algae), production of soil-aggregating substances, and several others. The relative importance of fungi and bacteria (...

Biological activity of some bacterial isolates against soil borne pathogenic fungi

The antagonistic activity of three bacterial isolates namely Microbacterium terregens, Cellulosimicrobium cellulans and Bacillus amylollquefaciens was evaluated through direct confrontation method and filtrates culture against the growth of Fusarium solani, Fusarium oxysporum, Rhizoctonia solani and Phytophthra cactorum. All bacterial isolates showed the inhibition of the mycelia growth of the ...
